From left to right: sons Joey and Davey, board member Ed Lee, wife Sue, and David
On June 8th, 2010, this organization lost a life-long industry member, a mentor, a friend. At age 43, David L. Carothers passed away after enduring a head-on collision when another driver crossed into his lane. He left behind many who will remember him for what he accomplished and gave back in the short time he had.
For the past 6 years, as manager of Deltrans, Inc., in Newark, those who knew him realize the vast amount of knowledge he carried on his shoulders. This knowledge comes from an immersion in the industry and a passion for what he did. He was also a member of an international think tank for transmissions and converters, T.A.S.C. Force.
Carothers also shared his time with his family and community. For 23 years, his wife, Teresa, stood by his side as he dedicated his time to work and charity. They created a family, had two sons, and were active members of their community. Carothers was the current President of the Chesapeake City Lions Club, which required numerous hours of participation through various community activities.
A service for Carothers was held on June 12, 2010, but for those who could not attend and wish to send condolences to the family, you may visit www.rtfoard.com. Charitable contributions are also being collected in memory of Dave via the Chesapeake City Lions Club.
