As you can imagine this is a very busy time finalizing details for the upcoming seminar and tours. The following is a rough outline of what you can expect. On the transmission side see the processes for a volume transmission remanufacturer. On this tour follow along as the transmissions are received, distributed and individually produced. After production, view dyno testing on one of the Superflow computerized test stands. Take a tour of the full-service machine shop and valve body/solenoid departments and finally the packaging and shipping areas of the facility. Next you are off to the Torque Converter Plant. This 36,000 square foot facility is a stand alone operation located across from the Transmission Plant. Come watch the rebuild process. See the CNC cut open operation. Concerned with ergonomics? Come see how to lift and maneuver converters such as the 4L80E or 618 with virtually one hand. This tour will give you the opportunity to see Certified’s approach to the production remanufacturing process. After a catered luncheon it’s off to Lincoln, Nebraska to the Bill Smith Museum of Speed. You will have the opportunity to view the “World’s Largest Collection Vintage to Exotic Racing Engines & Speed Equipment.” Anyone in the automotive industry will find something of interest in this 125,000 square foot facility. Following the Museum tour the charter transportation will return you to the host hotel Embassy Suites – Downtown Omaha.

Friday evening is yours to enjoy, stroll around the Old Market area located right outside the hotel doors or maybe travel the short distance across the river to Iowa to try your luck at one of the casinos. What ever you choose, remember you have a big day ahead of you on Saturday. On Saturday the educational part of the event takes place. After you enjoy your cooked-to-order breakfast, make your way to the Missouri Room as registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The seminar portion of TCRA 2008 will be jam packed with speakers. Many of the industry experts that you have grown to respect are scheduled to speak as well as some new faces in the area of welding and management. At the seminar’s end there will be an Annual Members Meeting leading up to a hospitality event with drinks and hors d’oeuvres. This will be a great opportunity to enjoy time with old and new industry friends and wind down from a fun filled and exciting weekend. Remember the clocks ticking and the calendar is flipping so get packed and don’t forget to register. For more information go to www.tcraonline.com
