Carbon filled or graphite

Carbon filled or graphite?
Carbon filled or graphite?

Dan Tabor from the AAmco Transmission in Highlands Ranch, Co. has a theory that he needs help to prove. The theory is about how to properly identify whether the friction material in a 4L30E converter will be carbon filled or woven graphite. Dan noticed that when the transmission input shaft had a check ball in the end, the friction material was carbon filled and when there was no check ball, the friction material was woven graphite. Please help Dan prove or disprove his theory.
